Ceasar Wins Endorsement from Atlanta's Largest Labor Union
I am pleased to report that my campaign has been endorsed by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), which is the largest city of Atlanta workers union! This is a special honor because AFSCME members provide many of the vital services that make this great city work.
AFSCME’s executive board voted unanimously to support me because of my record of doing right by working families. Here’s what they had to say:
“(Ceasar) has not only fought to create a more fair, transparent, and ethical City Hall, but also to make sure that adequate resources are given to the neighborhoods andcommunities that are in desperate need. We are optimistic about his vision for Atlantaand the direction he will take our city.”
--Tracey Thornhill, President of AFSCME local 1644 and a 28-year employee of the Department of Public Works for the City of Atlanta
“Ceasar has been very vocal about the economic disparities that are plaguing our cityand has a comprehensive plan to help improve those conditions for Atlanta residents.Ceasar proved his plan by leading the charge to ensure all city workers are paid a livingwage. Under his leadership, all city workers will now earn at least $15.00 per hour.”
--Carlton Hamm, AFSCME chapter chair, and Dept. of Watershed employee
I am humbled and grateful for ASFCME's vote of confidence. As your Mayor, I will continue to fight for an Atlanta that works for everyone. But I can’t do it alone. Please help us keep this momentum by supporting my campaign today!
