Laban King Suspends Campaign and Endorses Ceasar Mitchell
ATLANTA, GA - Laban King, who officially withdrew from the City of Atlanta mayoral race earlier, today announced his endorsement of Ceasar Mitchell and urges his supporters to follow suit.
Mitchell, who has been a member of Atlanta’s City Council for 15 years – eight as a member and president for the past seven – has experience working collaboratively to increase safety, create transportation options and spur community revitalization so that all of Atlanta’s citizens can thrive. In addition, Mitchell, an attorney with DLA Piper, has initiated programs focused on growing small and medium business and preparing students for college.
King, whose platform focused on creating innovative solutions to issues in city government, as well as building strategic partnerships and conserving the city’s resources, says Mitchell has a history of sound policy and has consistently demonstrated integrity. “Ceasar’s love for Atlanta is evident in his commitment to legislation that moves the city forward and his willingness to collaborate for the common good. He’s an experienced public servant, and I respect his sense of discerning what is right. For me, he is the only choice to lead Atlanta for the next four years – and I urge my supporters to support him at the polls.”
“I am grateful for Laban’s support,” says Mitchell, “and I promise him that as mayor, I will remain focused on doing what is best for the city and engaging citizens like him, without whose fresh and innovative vision for Atlanta, we can’t make progress.”
